[Me and my friends had reserved seats on a flight to Manu'a on Friday to go visit our friends. Normal procedure is that you just pay for your ticket when you show up for the flight. Someone from the airport had told Taylor that if we didn’t all pay for our tickets by 4:30 on Thursday we would lose our seats. We found this out on Wednesday night. On Thursday Rosemary was at the airport and as Thanh and I couldn’t get there fast enough asked if they could please hold our seats without the money. “Hello, is this Kath-er-ine My-eel-nik?”


“Yes, that’s me.”


“Oh, I’m from InterIsland calling to tell you that since you did not pay for you ticket we have given away your seat on the plane.”


I stand stunned by… lack of professionalism? Annoyance? Disappointment?


Then over the line I hear a muffled chuckle.


“Wait a second… are you punking me? Is this an April Fool’s joke?”


“HAHAHAHAHA yeah… sorry hahahaha. You’re still on the flight, just pay tomorrow when you show up at the airport.”
