Today we at Leone High School were given a blessed treat when PICED came for a visit! Taylor and her youth leadership group came to our school for (supposedly) a school wide assembly that her group would perform a play at. Since it’s Samoa our school decided last minute (literally last minute – moments before school stated) that they didn’t want to do a whole school assembly and that only the gym classes would go see the play. WE were pretty pissed cause PICED had come and set up a huge stage and had a big production planned and our school decided that they would just change plans last minute. Talk about rude.
Julia, Thanh and I decided that we would just take our classes anyways out of solidarity and so that our kids could hear the message, and told the office as much. All in all Taylor’s kids were awesome and had a great message about staying in school, and our school looks even more sketchy. But what’s new?
